Annapolis Book Festival To Host Chris Matthews April 28

The Annapolis Book Festival returns for its 16th year at The Key School Saturday, April 28, to celebrate the written word.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — The Annapolis Book Festival is returning for its 16th year at The Key School Saturday morning to celebrate literacy and raise money for the private school.

Political pundit MSNBC host and author Chris Matthews is one of the key guests. He examines the public and private world of Robert Kennedy in his book, Bobby Kennedy: A Raging Spirit, which details RFK's early years in politics, through his crucial role as attorney general during his brother’s administration, to his tragic run for president.

Also appearing is White House correspondent April Ryan, who will talk about her book, The Presidency in Black and White: My Up-Close View of Four Presidents and Race in America, which provides a behind-the-scenes look at race relations in the White House.

Bestselling author Daniel Pink discusses his new book When: The Scientific Secrets of Perfect Timing, New York Times and Wall Street Journal, which shows that timing is not just an art, it's a science, and unlocks the scientific secrets of good timing that helps us flourish at work, school and home. And Lisa Genova, neuroscientist and bestselling author of Still Alice, discusses her latest novel, Every Note Played, about an accomplished concert pianist suffering from ALS.

Every year more than 3,000 people attend the free community festival that "celebrates the beauty, power, passion and excitement of the written word," according to a statement on the school's website.

There will also be children's activities, live music, refreshments and new and used book sales.

The Festival will go from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday at The Key School at 534 Hillsmere Drive.
