Annapolis Businesses Checked For Illegal Alcohol, Tobacco Sales

ANNAPOLIS, MD — Four Annapolis businesses failed tobacco compliance checks Monday, police said, while 32 passed the check and 12 venues with liquor licenses all passed their test. Authorities tested to see if the establishments would sell tobacco or alcohol to a minor.

Marylanders must be 18 or older to buy tobacco products, and 21 years old to buy alcohol.

These 12 establishments were checked and were in compliance with alcohol sales law:

• Dock Shop, 410 Severn Ave.
• Picante Annapolis, 48 West St.
• Forward Brewing, 418 Fourth St.
• Fox's Den, 179B Main St.
• Lewnes' Steakhouse, 401 Fourth St.
• Little Italy Annapolis, 1411B Forest Drive
• Middleton Tavern, 2 Market Space
• Ruth's Chris Steak House, 301 Severn Ave.
• Sammy's Italian Pizza Kitchen, 1007A Bay Ridge Ave.
• Vida Taco Bar, 200 Main St.

Tobacco Sales Checks

A police news release said these businesses made illegal tobacco sales:

• Royal Farms, 424 Sixth St.
• Chesapeake Market, 502 South Cherry Grove Ave.
• Exxon, 1926 West St.
• Chesapeake Pipe and Cigar, 45 Old Solomons Island Road

The police department said 32 businesses passed the test. They are:
