Annapolis Crime: Police Report Two Burglaries; Man Held in Robbery

The Annapolis Police Department reported 90 calls for service and 17 arrests in the past 24 hours.

The information below is a roundup of recent incidents provided by the police department.

Man Arrested in Connection with October Robbery-City police arrested William Saunders, 22, of Annapolis, on a warrant charging him with armed robbery, robbery, use of a firearm in a crime of violence, 1st degree assault, 2nd degree assault, rogue and vagabond, mayhem, and the theft of less than $1,000.

Police said the warrant was issued in connection with an incident that occurred in the unit block of Bens Drive on Oct. 28 around 3:40 p.m. Police said three people were involved in the incident.

With the arrest of Saunders, police said two people have been charged in this incident. Kyle Murray, 18, of Annapolis, was charged in connection with the incident on Nov. 3.

Saunders was released on $650,000 bond, according to police.

Burglary on Primrose Road—City police said someone entered a vacant apartment in the 900 block of Primrose Road and destroyed property inside. The damage included numerous holes punched in the drywall, damage to light fixtures and a shattered mirror, according to police.

Police said the incident occurred between 11 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. Saturday. There was no sign of forced entry.

Burglary on Halsey Road—Police said someone opened the back door of a basement in the 400 block of Halsey Road and took a Dell laptop computer and jewelry. Police said the incident occurred Wednesday between 7:15 a.m. and 7 p.m.
