ARNOLD, MD — An Annapolis driver died when her SUV crossed into traffic and hit a pickup truck head-on, Anne Arundel County Police said.

The fatal collision happened about 1:40 p.m. Friday at the intersection of College Parkway and Bellerive Drive.

Investigators said a 2000 Isuzu Rodeo was eastbound on College Parkway, approaching the intersection at Bellerive Drive, when the driver crossed the center lines into westbound traffic. The Isuzu, driven by Elizabeth Ann Payne, 42, of Annapolis, struck a 2006 Ford F-250 pickup truck head-on.

Police said in a news release that Payne was pronounced dead at the scene by Anne Arundel County Fire Department paramedics.

The driver of the pickup — Brian Corcoran, 38, of Annapolis — was not hurt, police said.
