ANNAPOLIS, MD — An Annapolis driver was ticketed after he reportedly crashed into a car and a charter bus with Wicomico Middle School students on board, say Maryland State Police. The accident sent seven students between the ages of 10 and 13 to Anne Arundel Medical Center to be checked as a precaution.

The three-vehicle crash happened at 3:17 p.m. Wednesday on US Route 50 on the Severn River Bridge. As traffic slowed in lane 3, the Dodge van struck the rear of a purple Acura, then the van driver tried to change to lane 2, where he struck the charter bus, police say.

The van driver, Bruce Pringle of Annapolis, was taken by ambulance to Anne Arundel Medical Center. He was cited for failure to control speed to avoid a collision.
