Irish Festival Will Bring Kilts, Beer To Anne Arundel County Fairgrounds
An Irish festival is coming soon to the Anne Arundel County Fairgrounds. The event will feature a kilt contest, ax-throwing and beer.

CROWNSVILLE, MD — The Annapolis Irish Festival is back. The event is scheduled for July 16 at the Anne Arundel County Fairgrounds in Crownsville.
Attendees can throw axes, complete an escape room or learn to play cricket. There will also be contests to find the best legs in a kilt and the best ginger. A kids zone will entertain the children.
The beer list will feature Maryland favorites like Loose Cannon from Heavy Seas and Special Lady Friend from Jailbreak. Additional brews will include:

The festival runs from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. at 1450 Generals Highway.

Irish dancers will perform during the opening ceremony. Musicians will also play the Caledonian pipes and drums.
Performances will run all day on the main and acoustic stages. These bands will strum some tunes.

ABC Events bought the Annapolis Irish Festival this winter from Tracy McGowan and her partners, Eye On Annapolis reported. The festival was founded in 2011. Planners canceled the gathering in 2020 and 2021 during the thick of the coronavirus pandemic.
ABC Events also runs the Maryland Chicken Wing Festival, the Maryland Seafood Festival and the Bay Bridge Paddle.
General admission tickets to the Annapolis Irish Festival cost $25 plus a $2 fee. Children 12 and under are free, but they still need a kid's ticket.
There are discounts for seniors and military members. The VIP package costs $125 plus a $6 fee.
