Annapolis Man Arrested for Threatening Woman with Knife: Police

Annapolis Police say Donte Mitchell threatened a woman with a six-inch knife when she wouldn't give him her cell phone.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — An Annapolis man who reportedly threatened a woman with a 6-inch knife is being held without bond.

Annapolis Police say Donte Mitchell, 36, of Annapolis was arrested Wednesday for assaulting and threatening a woman two days earlier in an apartment in the unit block of West Washington Street.

The victim told Annapolis Police that Mitchell grabbed her hair and arm and demanded her cell phone. When she refused to give the phone to him, he reportedly took out a pocket knife and threatened her. Mitchell took the cell phone; the woman fled the apartment and then called police.

Mitchell fled the area before officers arrived. He was located Wednesday and arrested.

Police say Mitchell is charged with armed robbery, robbery, second-degree assault, and possession of a dangerous weapon with intent to injure.

He is being held at the Jennifer Road Detention Center without bail.
