Annapolis Mayor Tests Positive For COVID-19, Encourages Vaccines
Annapolis Mayor Gavin Buckley tested positive for COVID-19 and has mild symptoms. He encouraged residents to get vaccinated and boosted.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — Annapolis Mayor Gavin Buckley announced Monday that he tested positive for COVID-19 over the weekend. He has mild symptoms and will isolate at home.
"I am fortunate to be fully vaccinated and boosted and so far just have a light cough," Buckley said in a press release. "I’ll quarantine for five days as recommended but I’ll continue to work and participate in meetings virtually."
Buckley expects to return to the office by the end of the week.

"I also want to take this opportunity to encourage everyone to keep up to date with vaccinations and boosters which are so important to preventing severe illness, hospitalization, and death, especially among vulnerable populations," the mayor said.
