ANNAPOLIS, MD — The Annapolis Police Department announced Thursday that one of its off-duty officers was arrested after a Saturday assault. The agency said it no longer employs the accused officer, identified as 26-year-old Dwight Forsythe of Odenton.
Authorities said Forsythe was arrested in Anne Arundel County, outside the City of Annapolis. The release listed Forsythe's charges as:
- First-degree assault
- Second-degree assault
- Reckless endangerment
Investigators did not give any more information. They also did not clarify whether Forsythe left the agency willingly or whether he was fired.
