Sam Ferracane will run 13 miles Nov. 22 in his police uniform while raising money for survivors of MD officers killed in the line of duty.

An Annapolis Police officer plans to run Saturday’s half-marathon in full gear – from uniform to boots, protective vest and gun belt – to raise money for the families of officers killed while on duty.

Officer Sam Ferracane of the Annapolis Police Department’s Neighborhood Enhancement Team will run 13 miles Nov. 22.

The avid runner will take part in the fourth annual TCS Annapolis Running Classic in uniform after hearing about an officer in another agency who completed a run in similar fashion.
