Annapolis Police Activity Report: Three Thefts From Vehicles
Remember to lock your cars.

ANNAPOLIS, MD -- The Annapolis Police Department released its daily activity report Tuesday, sharing some of their activities over the past 24 hours. They responded to 95 calls and arrested six people.
The report lists three vehicle thefts which occurred on Sunday and Monday. On Sunday, between 3:30 p.m. and midnight, a vehicle's window was smashed at the 1100 block of Madison Street, where money and prescription medications were stolen.
There were also two thefts from vehicles in which the cars were not locked, according to the report. Two laptops were stolen from unlocked vehicles, one at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday and one at 7:00 a.m. on Monday, from the Unit block of Spa Creek Landing.

Besides items from cars, thieves can sometimes find a way to steal the car itself. The police department's Community Services Unit runs the Watch Your Car program to help prevent that. In the program, residents are given a small sticker to be placed on their rear windows.
"This sticker alerts officers nationwide that your vehicle is not normally driven during the hours of 1 a.m. and 5 a.m.," the website says. This allows the vehicle to be stopped on the road to verify ownership. For more information on the program, email police@annapolis.gov.
