Annapolis Crime: Car Theft, Attempted Burglary, Scooter Stolen From Home

The (APD) reports 339 calls for service and 36 arrests in the last 72 hours.

The below information is a roundup of recent incidents supplied by the APD. It is not a complete list of crimes and incidents reported in Annapolis.

Auto Theft—City police are investigating the theft of a car from the 700 block of Newtowne Drive during the early morning hours Sunday. Police said someone removed the car—a silver 2004 GMC Yukon with a Maryland license plate—from the parking lot.

Theft Arrest—City police arrested two men in connection with taking tools from a truck Sunday. According to an APD daily brief, William Martin Schneider, 40 of Brooklyn, and Jacque Charles Talmage, 44 of Glen Burnie, were charged with theft, rogue and vagabond, destruction of property and concealed dangerous weapon.

The owner of the truck reported the incident to police. Talmage is being held on $10,000 bond and Schneider is being held on $30,000 bond, police said in the brief.

Electronics Stolen From Car on Youngs Farm Road—City police are currently investigating a theft from a car that they said took place in the 1200 block of Youngs Farm Road sometime between 11 p.m. Thursday and 11 a.m. Friday. Police said the back passenger-side window of the car was broken and someone took a 15-inch speaker in a gray box and a black amplifier from inside the car.

Attempted Burglary on Forest Drive—City police are currently investigating an attempted burglary in the 2100 block of Forest Drive. According to police the incident occurred between 10 p.m. Friday and 7 p.m. Saturday. Police said someone tried to pry open the back door of the business.

Attempted Theft From Car on Lockwood Court—According to an APD news brief someone entered an unlocked car on Lockwood Court and left some items from the car on the ground nearby. Police said the incident occurred between Thursday night and Friday morning. Nothing was taken from the car, police said in the brief.

Stolen Scooter—Police said a black motor scooter was taken from the side of a residence in the unit block of Lafayette Avenue sometime between noon and 5 p.m. Saturday.

Wallet Taken from Vehicle on Munroe Court— A brown leather wallet was taken from an unlocked car in the unit block of Munroe Court. Police said the incident occurred sometime between 7 p.m. Friday and 2:45 a.m. Saturday.

Radar Detector Stolen from Car on Annapolis Walk Drive—City police are investigating the theft of a radar detector from a car in the 600 block of Annapolis Walk Drive. Police said there was no sign of forced entry to the car. The incident is believed to have occurred between 9:30 p.m. Saturday and 6 a.m. Sunday, according to police
