Annapolis Rapper Young Dylan on 'Ellen' Show Sept. 19
A 7-year-old rapper from Annapolis will appear on "The Ellen de Generes Show" on Monday.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — Young Dylan, a pint-sized 7-year-old Annapolis rapper, showcased his talent at a taping of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" that airs Monday afternoon, Sept 19.
Second-grader Dylan Gilmer and his parents flew to Los Angeles last week to meet the comedian and talk show host, who frequently has children perform on her syndicated show.
Young Dylan, as he’s known, was the rap name bestowed on him by his dad, he tells Ellen. She asks him if he’d be Old Dylan as he grows up, but he says no.

The youngster told Ellen part of his motivation to be a rapper is to have 300 mansions when he grows up. One will be for him, one for his parents, and the rest for use as an orphanage and for poor people to use.
With his parents cheering in the audience, Dylan then climbs up on the hood of a car and gave the viewers a sample of his rap.

The Germantown Elementary School student says he was “very nervous” to meet Ellen, but she was “very cool” when he met and spoke with her, the Capital-Gazette reports.
The boy's parents created a “Young Dylan” Instagram page to display his rapping skills, which caught the attention of “Ellen” producers, the newspaper reports. Almost 70,000 followers of Young Dylan on Instagram can watch his videos as he puts his own spin on hip-hop songs.
“Thank you for all the supporters and for giving me all these likes, and thank you for my family. We’re gonna turn it up,” Dylan says in a video on his site.
“Ellen” can be seen on NBC Washington, Channel 4, at 3 p.m.
