Annapolis Teen In Jail on Adult Drug-Trafficking Charges

Annapolis Police arrested two teenagers for drug-trafficking after finding nearly 24 grams of marijuana in a car.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — An Annapolis 17-year-old is in jail on adult charges of drug trafficking, according to police.

Annapolis Police arrested Jason Morales Hernandez, 17, of Annapolis on Monday after he was first stopped by police for registration violations. When officers discovered he had active court documents, the other occupant of the vehicle, a 17-year-old girl, grabbed a book bag from the vehicle and attempted to flee.

She was stopped and inside the book bag officers reportedly found about 23.6 grams of marijuana. Drug packaging and a scale were also in the bag, which police say indicated an intent to distribute the marijuana.

A loaded handgun was hidden under the driver’s seat.

Morales Hernandez was arrested and charged as an adult with drug possession with intent to distribute, possession of a handgun, and 11 other counts relating to illicit drug and weapon violations.

He is being held at the Jennifer Road Detention Center on $150,000 bond.

The girl was charged as a juvenile with possession of durgs with intent to distribute charges and released to a guardian.
