Anne Arundel County Celebrates National Night Out
Residents mingled with police and emergency responders Tuesday night to build neighborhoods and stand up against crime in the county.

Members of the Anne Arundel County Police Department, county leaders and community groups met with residents Tuesday to promote crime and drug prevention awareness, and promote police and community involvement to create safer communities as part of National Night Out.
In Annapolis, the city’s police department hosted an even with a moonbounce, obstacle course, K-9 demonstration, Honor Guard presentation, identification cards for children, food and more.

Other activities held were:
Lula G. Scott Community Center, 6243 Shady Side Road in Shady Side, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Anne Arundel County Police Aviation Unit will be on location along with members and equipment from the Special Operations Division.Lloyd Keaser Community Center, 5757 Belle Grove Road in Brooklyn, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. There will be activities for children, information kiosks, refreshments and police and fire department demonstrations. The Police Department’s Quick Response Team and K-9 unit will also be present.Crofton Library Parking Lot, 1681 Riedel Road in Crofton, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Festivities include activities for children and police and fire demonstrations. The K-9 unit and members and equipment from the Special Operations Division will also be present.Fort George G. Meade, at the McGlachlin Parade Field, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The Anne Arundel County Police Department’s Aviation Unit will be present, weather permitting.Villages at Dorchester Community Center, 7551 Dorchester Boulevard in Hanover.
