Anne Arundel County Youth Take Top Honors At Regatta

ANNAPOLIS, MD — Several local youth enjoyed success at the Rock Hall Yacht Club's June 27 one-design junior sailing regatta. More than 100 sailors hit the water to compete in the Optimist, Laser Radial and Club 420 classes. They sailed through three courses for a total of 20 races.

The top five finishers from Anne Arundel County include:

Club 420

• Fourth out of 21 boats: Anna Groszkowski and Amelia Johnson of Severn Sailing Association
• Fifth out of 21 boats: Gerald Perez Carbo and Ty Ryan of Severn Sailing Association

Laser Radial, 12 boats:

• Second out of 12 boats: Alex Adams of Annapolis Yacht Club

Optimist

• First out of 46 boats: Kyle Reinecke of Annapolis Yacht Club
• Third out of 46 boats: Christopher Draper of Annapolis Yacht Club
• Fourth out of 46 boats: Owen MacWilliams of Annapolis Yacht Club

Optimist Blue

• First out of 18 boats: Christopher Draper of Annapolis Yacht Club
• Second out of 18 boats: Conor Mastromarco of Annapolis Yacht Club
• Third out of 18 boats: Alders Kulynych-Irvin of Annapolis Yacht Club
