Anne Arundel Schools Make Decision on Friday Schedule

After-school and weekend activities, and SAT tests, are canceled by the approaching storm, Anne Arundel County Public Schools officials say.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — All schools in Anne Arundel County will open Friday, Jan. 22, but the coming blizzard has canceled some activities, according to Anne Arundel County Public Schools.

The National Weather Service has issued a blizzard warning from noon Friday through 6 a.m. Sunday for much of Maryland, including Anne Arundel County. Snowfall totals are now estimated at 2 feet.

The district posted the update Thursday afternoon. At this time, schools will open on time on Friday, Jan. 22, and dismiss two hours early as planned in the school calendar.

  • All after-school activities on Friday, Jan. 22, are canceled.
  • All school-sponsored activities scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 23 and 24, are canceled.
  • SAT exams scheduled for Jan. 23 are also canceled.
