Annual Tug-of-War Unfolds Nov. 2 Pitting Annapolis Vs. Eastport
The 22nd annual tug-of-war between Annapolis and Eastport will unfold at noon Nov. 2 at City Dock.
ANNAPOLIS, MD — The 22nd annual "tug-of-war" between the City of Annapolis and the Maritime Republic of Eastport will unfold Nov. 2 at noon at City Dock. The special event raises money for The Bernie House, Eastport Elementary, Annapolis Elementary, Civil Air Patrol, Seeds 4 Success, Severn River Association and the Eastport Volunteer Fire Company.
The rope to be used is 1,700 feet long and weighs 300 pounds, Eastport claims, and is ferried across Spa Creek.
“We’re going to crush them,” said Annapolis Mayor Gavin Buckley in a statement. “Just like we did last year.”
