Crash Prompts Assault, Attempted Robbery Outside Arnold 7-Eleven: Police
A man was assaulted after an Arnold car crash, police said. The suspect flashed a knife and demanded money after the wreck.

ARNOLD, MD — County police announced that a man was assaulted after a car crash this week in Arnold. The suspect showed a knife and tried to rob the victim, officers said.
Authorities heard about the confrontation Monday around 1:30 p.m. Police said they responded to the 7-Eleven located at 730 E College Parkway.
The 26-year-old victim got into a wreck with a black Ford Focus. He pulled into the convenience store parking lot and approached the other driver, officers said.

While speaking with the Ford driver, a Ford passenger became confrontational. Authorities accused the Ford passenger of:
- Displaying the knife
- Shoving the victim
- Threatening him
- Demanding money
The Ford driver separated the passenger and the victim. Police said the Ford passenger then took a pair of sunglasses from the victim's vehicle.

The victim went into the store. The passenger got back in the Ford sedan and left the area, a press release said.
The victim left the 7-Eleven and noticed that the Ford was following him, officers said.
Authorities said the suspect threw a water bottle at the victim's vehicle before driving in a different direction.
Police searched the area, but they could not find the Ford. The Anne Arundel County Police Department is still investigating.
