Arts Council Welcomes Five New Board Members
Lucy Spiegel, former executive at CNN is one of five new members joining the Board of Arts Council of Anne Arundel County

The Arts Council of Anne Arundel County is pleased to announce that five new Board Members have taken office with the start of the 2018 fiscal year. Anne Arundel County residents: Andy Bienstock, Kristin Kohlmann, Godfrey Lewis, Lucy Spiegel, and Dr. Briana Walton will be sharing their professional expertise in the fields of entertainment, finance, business, and medicine with the nonprofit Arts Council which distributes grants and provides mentoring and support to over thirty-eight arts and historic preservation organizations in Anne Arundel County.
“We have a very talented group of new incoming board members,” says executive Director April Nyman, “I look forward to working with them.”
Each new board member has a personal connection to the arts or local history. Annapolis resident Andy Bienstock is program director at Morning Edition on WYPR radio, an NPR affiliate broadcasting out of Baltimore. Bienstock also hosts WYPR’s Sunday Night Jazz show. Kristin Kohlmann, Vice President of Commercial Banking with First National Bank, is a career banker with experience in commercial lending, retail and commercial sales and strategic planning. She resides in Gambrills. Godfrey Lewis, of Upper Marlboro, is a financial services professional who has volunteer experience with United Way of America and the ONC Grow Up Great program for kids. Lucy Spiegel, now retired, worked many years in the television business including stints at CBS and CNN and recently served as President of the Board of Directors of the Annapolis Film Festival. Dr. Briana Walton, a resident of Gambrills is Director of Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery at AAMC. For the past six years she has spent two weeks in April assisting medical procedure in Niger and Rwanda as a volunteer for the International Organization for Women and Development Inc.
