Ballet Theatre of Maryland is excited to unveil its 2017-2018 Season with an exquisite
array of performances designed to fulfill your every wish.
Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts:
First up on your “Wish List” is our Season Grand Opening at Maryland Hall for the
Creative Arts in Annapolis as BTM celebrates Shakespeare’s genius with the poignant,
archetypal love story—Romeo & Juliet. Last performed by BTM more than six years
ago, this tragic tale is told poetically and passionately through the fusion of dance,
literature and Prokofiev’s magnificent musical masterpiece! Explore the depths of love,
fate, and tragedy as Romeo and Juliet experience them on the path of the “starcrossed”—a
path of chaos and passion rushing them inevitably into death and despair
where their tragic sacrifice brings about the hope of redemption. Performances are
Friday, October 20, 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, October 21, 7:00 p.m.; and October 22, 2:00
p.m. And of course, if you attend our Saturday night performance, you can attend our
opening night VIP party at 6:30 p.m., prior to the performance, in celebration of
Artistic Director Dianna Cuatto’s 15th -year anniversary with BTM. In addition, you
can meet Romeo and his Juliet immediately following the Sunday Matinee Performance
for an autograph signing “Meet and Greet the Stars”.
