Betty Jane Jones, 88, of Annapolis, wife of Albert R. Jones for almost 70 years, died at her home Friday morning, July 17, 2015. She had celebrated her 88th birthday on Sunday with her family.

Betty Jane Washington was born on July 12, 1927 in Winston-Salem, NC; she was the fourth of 11 children. Betty moved to Annapolis as a child and lived there for the rest of her life. She graduated from Annapolis High School and on September 18, 1945 she married her high school sweetheart, “Bucky”.

Betty devoted her entire life to her husband and her two children, Brenda Duvall (Gordon), Barbara Fleming (Hank), three grandchildren: David Capossela (Michele), Matthew Duvall (Tina), Marybeth Davis (Russ), as well as five great-grandchildren: Nicholas, Joe, Jack, Brooke and Ryan, whom she loved dearly.

Friends and family wishing to join in the celebration of her life are invited to St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church, 4 Wallace Manor Road, Edgewater, on Sunday, July 26 at 2 p.m. A reception will follow at the church.

A private family graveside service will be held the following day.
