Blue Angels Returning To Annapolis For Naval Academy Commissioning Week
The Blue Angels will return to Annapolis this spring. Here's when to watch the fighter jets during Naval Academy Commissioning Week.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — The Blue Angels will return to Annapolis for their annual air show this spring. The flight demonstration centers around the U.S. Naval Academy's Commissioning Week.
The Blue Angels are an elite squadron of Navy fighter jets. The Boeing F/A-18 Super Hornets are known for their precise maneuvers that bring the jets within 18 inches of each other during flight.

Residents will have three chances to see the Blue Angels this year.

Visit Annapolis & Anne Arundel County announced the schedule in a Monday press release.
The Blue Angels arrive Tuesday, May 23. They will circle the city and have a flight rehearsal from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and again at 2 p.m. over the Severn River.

The full flight demonstration is Wednesday, May 24 at 2 p.m. over the Severn River.
Boating Restrictions
The City of Annapolis will enforce boating restrictions on these two days. Anchoring will be prohibited on the Severn River from roughly Weems Creek to Carr Creek. Anchoring will also be prohibited in the mouth of College Creek.
Temporary buoys will mark a channel from the Chesapeake Bay through the Severn River and into Spa Creek. Boats must keep this channel clear and moving.
The restricted zone will be in place Tuesday, May 23 from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Wednesday, May 24 from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The City of Annapolis said the best places to anchor are off Greenbury Point by Carr Creek or near the U.S. Route 50 Bridge.

Commissioning Ceremony Flyover
The Blue Angels will also fly over the Midshipmen's commissioning, or graduation, ceremony on Friday, May 26. Residents can catch a glimpse of the flyover at 10:04 a.m., but the commissioning ceremony at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium is closed to the public.
Commissioning Week runs from Friday, May 19 through Friday, May 26.
