Body Found In Annapolis Waterway, Officers Seek Tips: Police

A body was found in an Anne Arundel County waterway, police said. Officers seek tips about the death of the man, 51.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — A body was found in an Annapolis waterway recently, police said.

Officers said they were called Sunday around 10:05 a.m. for a body in the water near the Hillsmere Shores community kayak launch on Duvall Creek.

Authorities said the Anne Arundel County Fire Department recovered the body of the man, a 51-year-old from Annapolis.

Police said they found a backpack and personal possessions belonging to the man on shore.

The man's body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore.

An autopsy will determine the cause and the manner of death.

Officers have not released the name of the deceased man.

Maryland Natural Resources Police are still investigating.

Officers asked anybody with information about activity at the Hillsmere Shores kayak launch between Saturday evening and Sunday morning to contact investigators at 410-260-8888.
