About 60 Annapolis Senior Activity Center members and one youngster laughed and clapped as Herb Briscoe, Candee Van Iderstine, Woody Woodruff, and Dave Dasenbrock from the Bowie Senior Center Magic Group treated them to magic tricks.

Steve Sears, who is also from the magic group, operated the sound board. Center members --Nikki Dorsey, Mike Watsky, Kit Fox, Geraldine Collins, Joe Stachecki, and Dorothy Jennet Jones -- also pitched in to help as did Dehvin Moore, a special guest and great grandson of Collins.

No expensive gadgets were used during the performance – just cheap, but magic ropes, cards, rings, and wand.

The audience learned about “palming” and “misdirection” as the magicians did their tricks. Comedy and mind-reading also played a part in the act, which added to the audience appreciation of the magicians’ cleverness.

The magicians didn’t make any people disappear, but some bottles and water glasses disappeared and multiplied to the amazement of the audience. At the end of the show they were all packed away to return to Bowie for recycling.
