Catherine Frances Sliva-Rooney, 82, died peacefully in her sleep surrounded by family at Anne Arundel Medical Center on May 29, 2015.
Her parents Thomas and Catherine Caffrey, to whom she was born September 3, 1932 in New York City, preceded her in death, along with brothers Peter Nolan and Joseph Caffrey and sister Frances Jordan.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas Rooney. Also surviving are her sisters, Mary (Skip) Chapman, Loretta Cifu, Eileen (Joe) O’Connell and Patricia (Frank) Wells; her children, Catherine (Joseph) Vendemia, Francis (Jan) Sliva, Therese Bohn and grandchildren, Jamie (Chris) Bartlet, Amy (Steve) Murawski, Ashley (Scott) Deck and Joseph Vendemia III. In addition, two great-grandchildren, Brennan Forrest and Ava Deck.

Friends may call at John M. Taylor Funeral Home, 147 Duke of Gloucester St. Friday, June 12, from 7-9 p.m. A memorial Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Parish in Annapolis at 9 a.m. on Saturday, June 13.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the SPCA of Anne Arundel County, P.O. Box 3471, Annapolis, MD 21403.
