Celebrate Arbor Day at Mills-Parole Elementary

Annapolis residents can join with students at Mills-Parole Elementary on Friday to sing and plant a tree.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — Residents are invited to attend the city’s Arbor Day Celebration at the Walter S. Mills Parole Elementary School.

The city’s event will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. on Friday, April 8, at the Walter S. Mills Parole Elementary School, located at 1 George and Marion Phelps Lane in Annapolis.

Students will participate in the celebration by singing a John Denver song and the Arbor Day event will include a tree planting with an American dogwood tree donated by BGE.

Arbor Day was first observed in 1872 with the planting of more than a million trees in Nebraska.
