Churchton Man Dies When Thrown From Car
Anne Arundel County officials say the 24-year-old Churchton man died before a helicopter could fly him to a hospital.

FRIENDSHIP, MD — Authorities have identified Brian Earle Galloway, 24, of Churchton as the victim who died in a car accident Sunday morning in Friendship.
Just before 7:30 a.m., Anne Arundel County firefighters were called to Friendship Road and Boyds Turn Road for a crash report. Galloway was thrown from the vehicle.
A Maryland State Police helicopter was contacted about the crash. But authorities said Galloway went into cardiac arrest before reaching the helicopter landing site at Traceys Elementary School.

Witnesses told Anne Arundel County Police reported that Galloway was driving a 2008 Honda Accord westbound on Friendship Road at a high rate of speed. The vehicle spun out, crossed the centerline, left the roadway, and rolled into the trees. Galloway was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the car.
Preliminarily, the cause of the crash was the driver’s failure to remain in a single lane. Police say a contributing circumstance was excessive speed, but alcohol does not appear to be involved.
