Closings in Anne Arundel County Because of Weekend Blizzard
Snowstorm causes malls, animal shelters, government buildings and more to close early in Anne Arundel County.

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD – With the county under a blizzard warning from Friday afternoon to 6 a.m. Sunday, many schools and organizations have announced closings:
- Annapolis Transit services and parking enforcement are suspended for Saturday, Jan. 23.
- The Pip Moyer Recreation Center and the Stanton Center are also closed Saturday, Jan. 23, and Sunday, Jan. 24, with all recreation programs and rentals cancelled.
- Westfield Annapolis Mall closed Friday afternoon. Officials will evaluate weather conditions and post further updates at 8 a.m. Saturday regarding operating hours.
- Annapolis Towne Center stores closed early Friday. Check with individual store for hours of operation. Call before you go. We will update this post as new hours become available.
- Anne Arundel SPCA will remain closed until Sunday, Jan 24, at 11 a.m.
- Anne Arundel County Libraries will be closed Saturday, Jan. 23, and Sunday, Jan. 24.
- Anne Arundel County Government will close at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22.
- Anne Arundel County Public Schools will dismiss 2 hours early on Friday, Jan. 22.
- Anne Arundel County Recreation and Parks activities are canceled for Friday, Jan. 22, and Saturday, Jan. 23.
- Snowshoeing, basketball team, mentor team, and duckpin bowling team practices are canceled for Special Olympic Anne Arundel County.
- The Naval Academy Brigade Sports Complex closed at noon on Friday, Jan. 22. Will resume normal hours on Jan. 25, weather permitting.
- There will be no school or aftercare past 1 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 22, at Naval Academy Primary School.
- Anne Arundel County Circuit Court will close at 1 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 22.
- “Pip” Moyer Recreation Center and the Stanton Center will be closed through Jan. 24. All recreation activities are canceled for the weekend.
- National Park Service Chesapeake Bay Office is closed.
- Anne Arundel County Department of Recreation and parks will remain closed through Jan. 24. This includes Regional Parks, Aquatic Centers, Ice Rinks, Recreation Centers and all programs and permitted activities. School Age Child Care will remain open until 4:00pm Friday, Jan. 22.
