Coast Guard Rescues Boater with Chest Pains

An Annapolis Coast Guard crew towed a boat on the Rhode River to Camp Letts, where a helicopter met the patient.

Annapolis, MD — The Coast Guard medevaced a boater Saturday from the Rhode River near Annapolis.

Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Maryland-National Capital Region received a distress call via radio from a boater experiencing dizziness and chest pains.

A 29-foot response boat and crew was launched from Coast Guard Station Annapolis to rescued the boater.

The Coast Guard crew towed the vessel to a pier at Camp Letts near Edgewater, where they transferred the boater to awaiting emergency medical personnel.

Authorities have not identified the ailing boater or given his condition.
