Coronavirus Closes 8 Senior Centers In Anne Arundel County

Starting Monday, March 16, all nutrition program participants will begin receiving meals that can be prepared and eaten at home.

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD — Eight senior activity center buildings across Anne Arundel County will close indefinitely effective Thursday. The Anne Arundel County Department of Aging and Disabilities made the decision out of consideration of the health of the county’s older adults and possible implications of the coronavirus pandemic.

Officials announced March 12 that the decision was made in consultation with the Anne Arundel County Administration and Anne Arundel County Department of Health officer.

Senior activity centers will only remain open for nutrition program participants on Friday, March 13, and Monday, March 16, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nutrition program participants should continue to schedule a ride through the office of transportation at 410-222-0022.
