Deadline Is Oct. 16 For Anne Arundel Voter Registration

Voter registration applications must be postmarked by Tuesday, Oct. 16. Here's where you can get an application in Anne Arundel County.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — The deadline is Tuesday, Oct. 16, to mail in voter registration forms to the Montgomery County Board of Elections to be eligible to vote in this year's general election. The 2018 general election is on Tuesday, Nov. 6.

Voter registration applications are available in Anne Arundel County at:

  • Post Offices
  • Public Libraries
  • Public Schools
  • MVA offices
  • Licensing offices

Applications must be postmarked by Tuesday, Oct. 16. Voter registration applications also are available from the Anne Arundel County Elections Office, 6740 Baymeadow Drive, Glen Burnie, MD 21060 and its mailing address is: P.O. Box 490 - Glen Burnie MD 21060-0. Or call (410-222-6600).

You can also register to vote, and request an absentee ballot on the Anne Arundel County Board of Elections website.

The Maryland ballot is headlined by the gubernatorial race between incumbent GOP Gov. Larry Hogan and Democratic nominee and former NAACP president Ben Jealous. U.S. Senator Ben Cardin, the Democratic incumbent, is making a bid for a third term, facing a challenge from Towson University professor Tony Campbell.

Maryland permits no-excuse early voting. Learn more by visiting this website. Early voting permits citizens to cast ballots in person at a polling place before an election. In states that permit no-excuse early voting, a voter does not have to provide an excuse for being unable to vote on Election Day.

To register and vote during early voting, go to an early voting center in the county where you live and bring a document that proves where you live. This document can be your MVA-issued license, ID card, or change of address card, or your paycheck, bank statement, utility bill, or other government document with your name and new address. You will be able to register to vote and vote.

Early voting in Anne Arundel County runs from Thursday, October 25, through Thursday, Nov. 1, from 10 am until 8 pm.
