Drug Raids Seize $6K In Heroin, $12K In Cash; 4 Charged: Anne Arundel Police

A Glen Burnie man and three Baltimore men are in jail on drug-trafficking charges following three drug raids in the area, police say.

GLEN BURNIE, MD — A man from Glen Burnie and three Baltimore men all face multiple drug trafficking and weapons charges after three drug raids on Tuesday reportedly turned up about $6,000 in heroin, roughly $3,600 in crack cocaine, and nearly $12,000 in cash from drug sales.

Earlier this month, the county's Heroin Task Force began investigating heroin distribution at several locations in Baltimore County and Anne Arundel County. Detectives obtained search warrants for 1002 Meherrin Court in Glen Burnie, 4114 Grace Court in Baltimore City, and 3940 Glenrose Avenue in Baltimore County.

At 5 a.m. on March 21, three search warrants were executed by members of the Anne Arundel County, Baltimore County, and Baltimore Police Departments. During the searches, detectives seized heroin, crack cocaine, guns and cash at these addresses:

1002 Meherrin Court, Glen Burnie

  • 74 capsules containing suspected heroin/Fentanyl mixture with an estimated street value of $740
  • 19 grams suspected crack cocaine with an estimated street value of $1,900
  • Taurus .40 caliber handgun loaded with 10 rounds of ammunition
  • $10,580 in cash
  • CDS packaging material and paraphernalia

4114 Grace Court, Baltimore

  • 5 capsules of suspected heroin/Fentanyl mixture with an estimated street value of $50
  • 2 grams of suspected crack cocaine with an estimated street value: $200

3940 Glenrose Avenue, Halethorpe

  • 513 capsules of heroin with an estimated street value of $5,130
  • 16 grams suspected crack cocaine with an estimated street value of $1,600
  • 100 mg liquid Fentanyl with an estimated street value of $100
  • $1,000 cash
  • .30-30 rifle
  • 2010 Lexus LS 460
  • CDS packaging material and paraphernalia

The four suspects arrested are:

  • Tyrae Tordin Reid, 45, of the 1000 block of Meherrin Court in Glen Burnie
  • Maurice Griffin, 37, 3900 block of Glenrose Avenue in Baltimore
  • Eric Principio, 46, 3900 block of Glenrose Avenue in Baltimore
  • Sheldon Ferguson, 20, 4000 block of McDowell Lane in Baltimore

All four men are charged with various violations of the Controlled Dangerous Substance Act, including possession and possession with intent to distribute drugs and various firearm violations.

The heroin task force includes members from the Anne Arundel County Police Department, the Anne Arundel County Sheriff's Office, the Annapolis City Police Department and the Baltimore Police Department, along with the Baltimore County Narcotics Unit.
