Drunk Driver Fatally Hit Good Samaritan: State Police
A woman who stopped to help someone at an accident scene was fatally struck by a suspected drunk driver in PG County, police say.

COLLEGE PARK, MD — A good Samaritan who stopped to help someone involved in a car crash early Sunday in Prince George's County was hit and killed at the scene by a suspected drunk driver, Maryland State Police say. The first accident happened shortly before 4 a.m. Sunday on eastbound Route 50 near Maryland Route 410 when the driver of a silver Pontiac Grand Am lost control of their vehicle and struck the jersey wall.
Investigators say a female good Samaritan stopped to help the crash victim. Moments after the woman got out of her vehicle, she was struck by a man driving an Infiniti G37. The woman was declared dead at the scene by Prince George’s County Fire and EMS. Her identity will not be released until next of kin are notified.
The driver of the Infiniti, a 37-year-old male from Springdale, remained at the scene and was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. State police have not identified the driver because of pending criminal charges that could result from the investigation.
