GIBSON ISLAND, MD — Maryland Natural Resources Police are trying to determine if a boater is missing after an empty johnboat was found at Gibson Island Monday morning. Authorities have asked for the public's help in identifying the boat.

It is described as a 12-foot johnboat that was found on the causeway at Gibson Island. The boat had crabbing gear, life jackets, a small outboard motor and no vessel number.
