Expect Delays: Lanes of I-95 Closed Starting Tuesday Night

Road crews will close multiple lanes of Interstate 95 northbound in Anne Arundel County so paving can be replaced.

Several lanes on northbound Interstate 95 will be closed starting tonight and lasting for several nights as new paving is put down on the road.

The Maryland State Highway Administration says the work will take place on northbound I-95 between the MD 200 (Intercounty Connector (ICC) interchange to just north of MD 198 (Sandy Spring Road). The temporary closures are necessary while work crews remove the top layer of asphalt and put down new paving. Crews expect to perform these nighttime lane closures through Wednesday night, Aug. 27, weather permitting.

This resurfacing work is part of the last segment of the ICC project and will repair the deteriorating pavement, the SHA says in a release.

Traffic will have full access to ramps while this work is done; however drivers should expect delays. Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area and consider the Baltimore/Washington Parkway, US 1 or US 29 as alternate routes.
