Fatal Shooting Victim Identified In Annapolis, Detectives Find Security Video: Police

ANNAPOLIS, MD — A man was fatally shot Thursday evening in Annapolis, city police said.

On Friday morning, officers identified the victim as Raphael Hilton Johnson Jr. They did not mention his age or hometown.

The shooting happened around 5:15 p.m. in the 100 block of Obery Court, authorities said.

Police said they found Johnson suffering from a single gunshot wound to the back of his head.

The Annapolis Fire Department pronounced the victim dead on the scene around 5:26 p.m., a press release said.

Detectives said they found security footage of the shooting and are still investigating.

The Annapolis Police Department asked anybody with information to call 410-260-3439. Tipsters can also anonymously contact officers at 410-280-CLUE (410-280-2583).

The Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland offered a cash reward of up to $2,000 for information that leads to an arrest or an indictment on felony charges. The Metro Crime Stoppers is a non-police organization that collects tips and shares them with detectives.
