Fire Damages Annapolis Townhome, Displaces Residents
Two adults and two children cannot return to their Annapolis townhome after it was damaged by a fire that started in a bedroom closet.
ANNAPOLIS, MD — Anne Arundel County firefighters responded to a two-story townhome fire the evening of Oct. 2 at 1104 Riverboat Court in Whispering Woods. The fire broke out at approximately 6:15 p.m. in the townhome located in the middle of the group of townhomes. A young child was suspected of suffering from smoke inhalation, but didn't require treatment.
The occupants of the townhome reported a fire that broke out in a second floor bedroom closet. Firefighters from four departments were able to extinguish the fire within 10 minutes, preventing it from spreading further. The fire caused an estimated $20,000 in damage, the Anne Arundel County Fire Department reported.
Two adults and four children have been displaced as a result of the fire and are being assisted by the Red Cross.
