Flood Warning Issued For Anne Arundel After Rapid Rainfall
BREAKING: The National Weather Service warns that Anne Arundel County roads may see minor flooding Tuesday due to the rain.

A flood warning has been issued for parts of Anne Arundel County Tuesday by the National Weather Service following afternoon thunderstorms, with more on the way. The flood warning is in effect until 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday, July 17, and means that flooding is imminent or occurring.
Up to two inches of rain have already fallen near and just east of BWI Airport, with another inch or two of rain possible in the same area. Officials warned most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
Locations that may experience flooding include Baltimore, Severn, Middle River, Elkridge, Riviera Beach, Baltimore-Washington Airport, North Point State Park, Sparrows Point, Fort Smallwood State Park, Back River, Millers Island, Glen Burnie, Dundalk, Essex, Odenton, Pasadena, and Arbutus.

Weather officials said that 1 to 2 inches of rain could lead to minor floods.
"Despite recent dry conditions, this may be enough to produce minor flooding," according to the flood warning.

Drivers who come upon water of unknown depth should turn around; don't drown.
Weather officials issued a hazardous weather outlook on Tuesday for much of the state, due to an isolated threat for flash flooding and damaging wind gusts from strong afternoon and evening thunderstorms.
