ANNAPOLIS, MD — Watch that first step as you leave the house, because parts of Anne Arundel and Prince George's counties could get freezing rain overnight into Tuesday morning, the National Weather Service warns. In a special weather statement, the service said that while widespread measurable freezing rain is not anticipated, a light glaze of ice could form on elevated and untreated surfaces as temperatures hover around freezing in the region.
Communities included in the statement are: Bowie, Suitland, Silver Hill, Clinton, College Park, Greenbelt, Laurel, Camp Springs, Glen Burnie, Annapolis, Severn, South Gate, Severna Park, Arnold, and Odenton.
A few isolated patches of freezing rain are possible overnight, mainly outside of the immediate Washington, D.C./Arlington area, north of Highway 50 in Prince George's and Anne Arundel counties, and over northern and western portions of Fairfax and Prince William counties as well as in the lee of the Blue Ridge Mountains over central Virginia.
