Havana Banana Breads Opens on Moreland Parkway

T'is the season for sweets, and if you’re looking for goodies to bring to your upcoming Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings, you can now chose from about 30 varieties of banana bread baked freshly in Annapolis.

Havana Banana Breads, Co. recently moved from its location in Ellicott City to a production facility on Moreland Parkway. The business opened in October.

Back in April, Patch talked to owner Mike Lawrence, a retired Army officer. Lawrence told Patch . Another plus—it was already painted yellow.

The idea began from his autistic son’s love for bananas. According to a release from the Annapolis Economic Development Corporation and the city of Annapolis, when Lawrence was a single dad, he always had bananas on hand and when the bananas started to turn brown, he began baking bread.

“Mike Lawrence is a testament to the hard work and determination needed to succeed in Annapolis. We, at Annapolis Economic Development Corporation, are very pleased to have assisted this great company in this relocation and wish them all the success in the world,” said Lara L. Fritts, Annapolis Economic Development Corporation President and CEO, in a recent press release.
