Head-On Crash Sends Six Victims to Hospitals

Two adults and four children were taken to area hospitals after a head-on crash in the Arnold area Tuesday.

Annapolis, MD — A head-on crash in the Arnold area Tuesday afternoon sent six people to area trauma centers Tuesday, although none of the injuries were believed to be life-threatening, authorities said.

Anne Arundel County Police and firefighters were called to the intersection of College Parkway and Green Holly Drive just after 4:45 p.m. on a two-vehicle crash. Two people were trapped in one of the vehicles, and they were extricated in about 30 minutes, said the Anne Arundel County Fire Department.

Two Maryland State Police helicopters were called to fly two of the patients to Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Three occupants of one vehicle -- the 44-year-old male driver and the 13- and 10-year-old male passengers -- were taken to the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center with serious injuries.

Fire officials said the occupants of the second vehicle were flown to trauma centers at Johns Hopkins Hospital. The 45-year-old female driver and an 11-year-old female passenger both had injuries that were serious, while an 8-year-old male passenger had critical injuries.
