Heroin, PCP Seized from Car During Annapolis Arrest

Two Annapolis men face numerous drug and gun charges after they reportedly ran from police.

Annapolis, MD — Two Annapolis men face multiple drug and gun charges after police found reportedly found heroin and PCP in their car.

Annapolis Police officers tried to stop a Nissan Maxima on Forest Drive at Gemini Drive on July 8 for suspected drug sales. The driver -- Kamari Gross, 21, of 1115 Madison St. in Annapolis -- failed to stop and eventually turned into a parking lot at Forest and Spa. Police say Gross and his passenger jumped out of the vehicle and ran. The driverless vehicle continued across the lot and struck a fence.

Gross was arrested and charged with five criminal counts and is being held at the Jennifer Road Detention Center.

The passenger, Paul M. Johnson III, 21, of 1164 Frederick Douglas St. in Annapolis, tossed a loaded Glock 22, .40 caliber handgun while running, police say, which officers recovered.

Officers subsequently located 4.5 grams of suspected heroin on Johnson’s person. A search of the vehicle turned up 2.2 grams of suspected heroin and a half an ounce of suspected PCP.

Johnson was charged with 12 criminal counts and is being held at the Jennifer Road Detention Center.
