ANNAPOLIS, MD — The Historic Inns of Annapolis are celebrating their 250th anniversary. The downtown hospitality group has plenty of deals and events throughout 2022.

"From the birth of our country to modern-day, the Historic Inns of Annapolis have borne witness to some of the most important events in our nation’s history," the business said in a Feb. 1 press release. "The Historic Inns properties are nestled in the historic district of downtown Annapolis within walking distance of live music, shopping, and award-winning restaurants."

The Historic Inns run the Maryland Inn, the Governor Calvert House and the Johnson House.

The inns will relaunch their annual Wedding Fair this year. Bridal show attendees can taste cakes, meet wedding professionals and gather ideas.

The $15 event is scheduled for March 27 from noon to 3 p.m. at the Governor Calvert House. Click here to buy tickets.

Other festivities at the Historic Inns include a fall gala and chef’s table dinners.

The King of France Tavern, located in the Maryland Inn building, will reopen soon. The tavern features original brick and a historic tunnel to the Maryland State House.

Holding up to 100 guests, the updated space is available for group events and small wedding receptions. The Maryland Inn will also offer weekend tours of the tavern and other notable public areas.

The Drummer's Lot Pub beneath the Maryland Inn will have historical drink specials with a modern twist.

The pub got its name from William Butterfield, a man who told the daily news to drum beats on the same plot in the 1750s. That site became known as the Drummer's Lot. The Maryland Inn eventually built its hotel in the same location in 1776.

"Today the Maryland Inn and its vintage sister properties, the Governor Calvert House and the Robert Johnson House, form the Historic Inns of Annapolis, each with a unique ambiance that reflects the colorful stories of yesteryear’s famous guests," the release said. "Present-day guests enjoy modern features and amenities, enhanced by the rich traditions of this charming seaport community."
