Homicide At Annapolis Apartment Under Investigation

Annapolis police responded to an apartment in the 100 block of Georgetown Road after a caller reported hearing gunshots.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — Police are investigating after a man was fatally shot inside an Annapolis apartment on Thursday night.

Around 7:40 p.m., Annapolis police responded to the 100 block of Georgetown Road after a caller reported hearing gunshots inside the building. When officers arrived, they spoke with neighbors who directed police to where they heard the shots.

According to authorities, officers knocked on the unlocked door and entered when they didn't receive a response.

Once inside the apartment, police found a man on the living room floor suffering from a gunshot wound. Police called paramedics, who pronounced the man dead at the scene.

Authorities did not release the victim's name pending notification of family. No suspect information was available.
