Husband Still Loves Wife Who Doused His Heart Pills with Bug Spray
The Brooklyn couple is working to reconcile after her eight-year prison sentence was suspended by a judge.
A Brooklyn woman charged with lacing her husband’s heart medication with Raid bug spray was sentenced Wednesday to time served in the dispute, which her husband described as overblown.
Anne Arundel County Police say Sandra Jeane Skyrczuk, 49, of 39th Avenue in Brooklyn Park was charged with poisoning in the Dec. 8 domestic assault.

Myron Skyrczuk told police he argued with his wife over her drug use, then went to a family member’s house for a short period of time. When he returned, he prepared to take his prescribed medication, saw pills sticking together and a residue on the pills, which smelled of bug spray, police say.
When Sandra Skyrczuk was searched, police found a heart pill in her pocket. During an interview with a detective, she admitted to lacing her husband’s pills with Raid in order to make him ill.

Sandra Skyrczuk was charged with poisoning, first- and second-degree assault and reckless endangerment.
This week she pleaded guilty to second-degree assault, reports the Capital-Gazette, and was sentenced to eight years in prison. That was suspended and reduced to time served. A judge also ordered Skyrczuk to undergo mental health and substance abuse evaluations, and follow any recommendations issued.
Myron Skyrczuk told the newspaper after the hearing that the incident was blown out of proportion.
“She was pretty much just mad at me,” he said, adding he loves his wife, whom he called his soulmate.
Defense attorneys said Sandra Skyrczuk has battled mental health issues and substance abuse. She loves her husband, an attorney said, and wants to rebuild her relationship with him.
