Injured Man Rescued From Cargo Ship In Chesapeake Bay
Maryland State Police said an air crew rescued the man after he fell more than 10 feet from a ladder.

STEVENSVILLE, MD — A man who fell 10-feet from a ladder was rescued from a cargo ship in the Chesapeake Bay Monday, Maryland State Police said.
According to state police, the incident happened around 1:45 p.m. aboard the Abtenauer bulk carrier cargo ship. The ship was traveling in the Chesapeake Bay near Stevensville when a ship worker fell from the ladder.
The man had to be hoisted from the ship because of his injuries. Police said a trooper and flight paramedic were lowered from a helicopter to the ship, where they secured the injured man to a backboard and hoisted him into the helicopter.

The man was taken to R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore for treatment. The man's condition was unknown.
The U.S. Coast Guard assisted with the rescue.
