Intoxicated Man Fires Gunshots At Annapolis Townhome: Police

An Annapolis man was arrested after he reportedly fired multiple gunshots behind the townhome complex where he lives, police say.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — An Annapolis man was arrested early Tuesday after he reportedly fired multiple gunshots behind the townhome complex where he lives, Anne Arundel County Police say. Paul Gerald Peterson, 30, of the 1200 block of Stonewood Court, was believed to be intoxicated when he was found with two weapons and spent shell casings around him, authorities said.

Residents in the townhouse community called police just after midnight to report shots being fired there. One of the callers gave police specific information about the suspect who was firing guns behind a row of townhouses, some of which were occupied at the time.

Police officers and K-9 responded to the community and saw Peterson in a rear yard armed with a handgun and a shotgun. Authorities say Peterson was taken into custody without incident. There were no reported injuries.
