Jane MacNab Sayre, 100, of Annapolis, died peacefully at home on August 25, 2015. She was born on Jan. 26, 1915 in Cleveland, Ohio, to Oscar and Nelle MacNab. She was raised in Ohio, Illinois and Texas. She met Harrison, her husband of 64 years, in Detroit, Michigan. They moved to Annapolis in 1941, where she lived the remainder of her life.
Harrison preceded her in death as did her sister Nancy Platt.

Jane worked for many years for Historic Annapolis both as a guide and in the office. She influenced many children’s lives in her work as a volunteer with the Girl Scouts, the YWCA, Stanton Center and St. Anne’s Church, Parole Day Care Center Board, and tutoring at Annapolis Elementary. As part of the American Field Service, she and Harrison hosted three international students and remained in touch throughout the years, visiting them on their travels.
Jane is survived by her children: Nancy Greeley (Mac), Judy McGregor (Dan), Carol Perfit Sayre, Becky Shuster (Bob), and Ellen Warfel (Russ), 13 grandchildren (Rob, Lowry, and Brendan Greeley, Doug McGregor, Rebecca Greenwald, Margaret Mattox, Ryan and Melissa Perfit, Amelia and Kate Shuster, Caroline, Abe and Andrea Warfel) and 11 great grandchildren.

Services will be held on Sept. 9, 2015 at 3 p.m. at St. Anne’s Church, Church Circle in Annapolis. Visitation with the family will be held Sept. 8 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Hardesty Funeral Home, 12 Ridgely Ave. in Annapolis.
Donations in her memory may be made to Historic Annapolis Foundation, 99 Main Street, Annapolis, Md. 21401 or the Stanton Center through St. Anne’s Church. Donations to the Stanton Center should be made to St. Anne’s Church, 199 Duke of Gloucester St., Annapolis, Md. 21401 and note on the check that it is in memory of Jane Sayre.
