Jimmy Buffett Dines on Crab Cakes, Sails Near Annapolis
Musician Jimmy Buffett sailed with friends from the US Naval Academy on Chesapeake Bay and skipped a cheeseburger for crab cakes.
ANNAPOLIS, MD — A few lucky folks had a treat Thursday when singer, author and sailor Jimmy Buffet dropped by the Boatyard Bar and Grill in Annapolis for lunch. The songwriter — known for hits like "Margaritaville" and "Son of a Son of a Sailor" — was in town for a sail with some friends at the United States Naval Academy.
And what did Buffet order for lunch? No cheeseburger in paradise, but crab cakes, of course, which he raved about to restaurant owner Dick Franyo. The lead Parrothead posed for a few photos and even invited Franyo to join the nautical excursion on the USNA Summer Wind and Yacht America on the Chesapeake Bay.
"He was amazing gracious and nice," Franyo wrote on the restaurant's Facebook page.

“I went out and sailed with him and some of our other Naval Academy friends,” Franyo told FOX 5. “He was gracious. He was just so nice to everyone.”
